Sushant Singh Adds Life To the Role in MS Dhoni – The Untold Story

It’s raining biopics in the Bollywood. After Neerja, Sarbjit, Azhar and Dangal, next biopic that is going to release in 2016 is MS Dhoni – The Untold Story.

The 48 seconds long official teaser of M. S. Dhoni – The Untold Story was launched on March 15, 2016. From the day people have seen the teaser they have gone berserk which is clearly visible on Twitter.

This is the biopic of Indian Cricket team’s captain and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. All we know about MS Dhoni is his unparalleled skills as a skipper and captain. The movie throws light on his complete journey, which is clear from the catch line “The man you know… The journey you don’t.”

But this is not the only reason behind immense popularity of the upcoming movie and the craze among the audience. Another thing making it a much awaited movie is killer acting of Sushant Singh Rajput, who earlier impressed the audience in Kai Po Che and Detective Byomkesh Bakshi. He has truly added life to the role of MS Dhoni.

New trailer of the biopic was released on August 11, 2016 that soon got viral on social media. The 3 minutes long trailer shows the journey of Indian Cricket team’s most successful captain and the people who played significant role in his success. Though the trailer is comparatively long, it has still gone viral due to tremendous acting of Sushant Singh.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was surprised to see Sushant Singh Rajput portray his role so well. The minute details the actor has paid attention to, impressed the captain.


Dhoni expressed his excitement through a tweet on social media networking site Twitter. He shared a video with the caption, “As I walked the path, the journey became my life. Here’s a glimpse of it.”

To perfectly fit into the role, the actor had gone through rigorous training. To learn Dhoni’s trademark ‘helicopter‘ shot, he strove really hard.

While praising the efforts of the actor, MS Dhoni said, “He (Sushant) has worked very hard. He was practicing everyday for more than nine months. He was batting everyday for over three hours when it comes to portraying the (cricket) shots.”

He further added, “Also the way I walk, the way I talk, he has copied almost everything. In fact I was amazed to see him do all these things.”

Sushant Singh Rajput, the onscreen Dhoni also took it to Twitter to share the news of trailer launch, “You’ve watched him create history. Watch the #MSDhoniTrailer now to know about his journey.”

When asked about the training, Sushant said, “On Second or the third day of the training, Kiran More who was my trainer, asked me to wicket keep. And i always thought it was an easy job. But let me tell u in 30-40 sec i could not sit in that posture for 10 sec. I got backache, cramps in my chord, broke my finger, bruised all over and it’s such a tough job. I now have immense respect for the all cricketers.”

The Tamil and Telugu versions of the movie will also be released trailers of which have already gone live on Twitter. Dhanush launched the Tamil version of the trailer while popular actor of Telugu industry Nani took it to his Twitter account to release Telugu trailer of the biopic.

The reason behind launching the movie trailer in different languages is to cater Dhoni’s fans across the country. Guess what, M. S. Dhoni – The Untold Story will be the first film to get Marathi makeover.

The movie has created a lot of hype and the fans are waiting crazily to see the journey of Indian cricket team’s most successful captain and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Directed by Neeraj Pandey and produced by Fox Star Studios and Inspired Entertainment, the movie is finally going to release on 30 September.
