Expectations of TV Celebrities from GST Rollout

GST rollout is just a few hours away. Everyone from a vendor to big celebrities, all have different expectations and hopes from GST. Television stars including Shubhangi, Atre, Niti Taylor, Kunal Jaisingh and Akshay Mhatre, expect the GST to bring some positive changes in their life.

Introduced on the concept of ‘one market, one tax and one nation’ the Goods and Services Tax (GST) is expected to bring a revolutionary change in India. This is the only biggest tax reform made in 70 years of independence of India. The new tax reform will come into force from July 1, 2017.

Talking about the benefits of GST, which will dismantle inter-state barriers to trade in good services, many TV celebrities expressed their views. Check opinion of different leading television stars on GST:

Kunal Jaisingh: Omkara of ‘Isqubaaz’, Kunal Jaisingh says that GST is a good move by the government. All the advanced countries follow this tax system and we should have got this way back. But still, at least, we are taking a step to improve the situation and moving ahead to a better future with implementation of GST.

Shubangi Atre: Anguri Bhabhi of ‘Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain’ is also happy with the implementation of GST. She said that it will reduce the number of tax regimes, cut-down multiplicity of taxes and minimize the need of extra record keeping, which will make tax regime simpler than earlier.


Devoleena Bhattacharjee: Gopi of Star Plus’ popular TV serial ‘Sath Nibhaya Sathiya’ is also in favor of GST. She believes that GST will improve the economy of the country and this is the reason she is supporting it.


Manish Goplani: Bihaan Pandey of ‘Thapki Pyaar Ki’ talked from the perspective of companies. He said that due to different tax rates in varied states, companies have to look for warehouses in areas where they can reduce storage and other costs. But with the new tax regime on ‘one market one tax’ concept, companies will be able to set up warehouses near their manufacturing units. It will also help them offer better customer services.


Tanya Sharma: Meera of ‘Sath Nibhana Sathiya’ praised present government for introducing GST for a better India. While talking about 17 state taxes and double taxation on consumption and production level, she said that it will enable fair taxation of goods and services.


Mitali Nag: The dusky beauty, who recently became mother, also feels that GST is a good step taken by the government. She said that it will make manufacturing more competitive in India by addressing issues like cascading of tax, high logistics costs and fragmented market. She further added, hope for a better and developed India.


Manu Punjabi: Praising the idea of GST, Bigg Boss 10 contestant Manu Punjabi said that it is something all the developed countries are enjoying. It will reduce the tax burden on consumers as well as businessmen by removing several tax regimes.
