Pratyusha Banerjee, who became a household name by playing the lead role of Anandi in Color channel’s popular show ‘Balika Vadhu’ finished her life by hanging herself from the fan. She committed suicide at her Mumbai flat on April 1, 2016. As per the news reports, she was in depression due to her bitter relationship with her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh.
Popular for his acting and comedy skills, the actor Razak Khan left the world of June 1, 2016 due to a heart attack. Some of his memorable comic and supporing roles were in films like Hello Brother, Baadshah and Ankhiyon Se Goli Maare. Ninja Chacha in Hello Brother and Nadi Didi Changezi in Ishq are some of his memorable roles. The actor who worked in around 90 movies also made his TV debut with ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ as Golden Bhai.
Tamil Nadu chief minister, J Jayalalithaa died on December 5 due to cardiac arrest. Yesteryear’s actress and a very successful politician, J Jayalalithaa was undergoing treatment in Apollo Hospital for around 75 days before bidding goodbye to the world.

The actor had worked in many TV serials and rose to fame after playing Vibhishan in epic mythological show Ramayan. Mukesh Rawal was found dead on the tracks between Borivali and Kandivali railway stations on November 15, 2016.

Veteran Bollywood, theatre and TV actress Sulabha Deshpande died on June 4 due to prolonged illness. The actress had worked over 73 mainstream Bollywood movies like Virasat and English Vinglish. The 79 years old actress was considered to be one of the pioneers of the experimental theatre movement.
Rajesh Vivek died on January 14, 2016 due to a massive heart attack while shooting for a movie in Hyderabad. The 66 years old actor has given the industry various memorable characters like Guran in ‘Lagaan’, postmaster in ‘Swades’ and the father of the two sons; Ramesh and Suresh in Cadbury 5Star’s ad series.
